Solder iron add-on feed mechanism

I hate holding my soldering iron in one hand and my solder in the other, especially when I need to hold a wire in the right place to be soldered. helping hands aren’t enough!

So I’m designing a device that adds on to my existing iron. It will have a ratchet mechanism to feed solder forward, and a gun style handle for easy holding of the iron and the feeder.

Here’s my first attempt at the central ratchet feed mechanism.
