The world famous wall-crawling art robot. Makes beautiful signs, posters, art, and more!
Attach the Makelangelo to a wall, window, easel, or whiteboard. Two motors pull special belts attached to the pen holder, where a third motor lifts the pen off the paper. This style of machine is called a polargraph. The Makelangelo Software takes your pictures or vector drawings and interprets them into instructions for the machine. It even understands Scratch 2 programs!
Makelangelo can run connected directly to your PC so you get real time feedback as it works OR use the SD card included with your kit to run the robot disconnected.
The Makelangelo can load all BMP, JPG, PNG, and GIF files. Images are interpreted through a variety of styles, most with sub-options to tweak them even more. See how.

Makelangelo understands some SVG and DXF files. Commonly used vector art programs like Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, and (the very free) Inkscape can all be used to make line drawings that scale perfectly. See how.
MIT’s Scratch program can export SB2 files that Makelangelo understands. See how.

Makelangelo 5 draws up to A2 size drawings with markers, gel pens, and more. A US letter size paper is about the size of an A4 sheet.
Makelangelo can draw A1 size, but we don’t recommend it.
Please note: Makelangelo 3D printed part color may vary. Please let us know if you need a specific color.
