    I’ve downloaded the software and am not quite sure how to install. I’ve tried to open the windows batch file with no success, and running as an administrator doesn’t do anything different. Am I missing something obvious here?
    Any help would be much appreciated!

    Try 2x clicking the Makelangelo.jar file. On most computers it should just work.
    Some rare cases need the start.bat file.

    Hi Dan! I found the solution – I needed to have Java installed. If anyone else runs into a similar issue, the download for Java can be found here: https://www.java.com/en/download/win10.jsp

    I am also having issues with installing and starting the software. I have verified that I have the latest JAVA but I do not see the Makelangelo.jar even after a search.

    @clocey

    download and unzip the Makelangelo.zip from here: https://www.marginallyclever.com/product/makelangelo-software/
    Double click the JAR file.

    In some rare cases you may need to double click the “start windows” or “start osx” file.

    You are not a fool! I have failed to make it more clear from the get-go.
    If you have an idea how to make it more clear, please let me know.

    I’ve learned to suck it up and ask for help a lot, it feels a little embarrassing but it saves time 🙂 Abusing Murphy’s law for profit!

    I did get it he software to work but now I think the steppers are too high current for the shield I have. I ordered a few 0.4a stepper to try soon. So much for getting this done for a classroom this year.

    Hey,
    so i have the Java app going.. looks great.
    I uploaded the code to my Arduino Mega… Just waiting on the Motor shield from ebay lol…
    But i thought i would experiment with the App, i have a picture loaded but when i want to press start its all grayed out. I cant press it even if i have the arduio connected…

    any thoughts.

    When you connected was there any text in the log window at the bottom, or in log.html? If yes, what did it say?

    I finally received some of the smaller steppers and they run properly on the adafruit driver board. Now to figure out how/where to connect the pen servo.

    @CL – adafruit driver board has ser1 and ser2. Code says

    #define SERVO_PIN SERVO_PIN1

    so that’s should be your answer.
