My DnD Map Plotter hardware is complete and I can draw with it using an older version of Makelangelo forked off by ffle
The map drawings are not working as the software is trying to apply artistic impressions on an image I have cleaned up greatly. What I am looking for is another algorithm that simply “mills” my drawings. This is similar to my CNC machine when I use a 1/4 inch drill to mill out a pattern. Instead, I want to use a 1/8 inch dry erase marker to “mill” my image so I get mostly straight lines instead of those square lines.
Is anyone available to help me introduce a new algorithm that is similar to milling?
Here is my project page:

Here are the sort of images I want to “mill” using my new plotter:

Thanks, Mike
Inkscape has an option to trace the edge of bitmap pictures. This means it can turn bitmaps (jpg/bmp/png/etc) into vector (SVG/DXF/etc). Then you can export as DXF R12, which is a format Makelangelo understands.
The benefit of vector format is that Makelangelo will draw along the lines, it doesn’t need to interpret the picture and draw something approximate.
