SD Card Drawing Size

I have an installation with the Makelangelo 3 where we’re relying on the SD card to setup new drawings every day. I’ve had mixed results where sometimes it works well, and other times it seems to forget both board and paper size as well as the location of center.
I’ve looked through the forums and saw that we need to set the board and paper size with it not connected and generate the GCode that way, and sometimes it works, other’s it doesn’t. Any ideas where we can get a little more consistency with it?
