makelangelo 2 only draws vertical line

Does anyone have information on getting the pen to draw something that corresponds to the image I see in the software? On screen I have an image of a face, the bot draws a line from top to the bottom. There has to be a way to diagnose what’s going on?
There is no information that I’ve found for the configuration of the hardware, I nave the box with the arduino and stepper motors on to top of a sheet of plywood, the pen handle is below, the eye hooks are at the side, the thread is through the eye hooks, it’s a triangle. The pen only draws lines up and down, it makes a long zigzag line from top to bottom. Not sure if this is a hardware problem or software?
Can you post a picture of your motors and the wiring? It sounds like both motors are doing the exact same thing all the time, instead of separate behavior.
Here’s the configuration, stepper the eye hooks and motors are mounted on plywood, red lines show eye hooks and thread.
Well… that looks sane…
Jog motors works as expected?
