Using an Uno with an Adafruit Motor shield V1

Maybe I’m missing something I probably am… Ive built a custom machine using some parts i 3D printed. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to upload the firmware to the board. I’ve downloaded the latest version V7.15.5 and I go into the README where it says…
“in Makelangelo-firmware/configure.h make sure BOARD_TYPE and MACHINE_STYLE are set for your board and machine style – For Makelangelo 3 or Makelangelo 5, choose POLARGRAPH”
I’ve chosen POLARGRAPH, but I’m not sure which board version to pick. The RUMBA and RAMPS options tell me I need an Mega board. I’m sure I’ve seen people on this forum say they are using an UNO with the AMSv1 and have had no issues.
Can someone tell me what I am missing?

Kudos for getting that far. UNO and AMS1 have not been supported for a couple of years now. There are a few threads on the forums about why. Basically, UNO is too weak.
